An Original Vintage Unfolded Motivational Poster (measures 28" x 54") (Learn More)

Protect Yourself ...For Them!, the 1952 Sheldon-Claire workplace motivational poster ("Do your part! Your work makes a difference") promoting safety in the workplace, and featuring art of man about to hug his family (telling him he will potentially lose them if he is not careful at work). The Sheldon-Claire Co was founded by Lew Shalett during the 1930s to provide employee motivational materials to industry. The posters and other materials were used by a wide range of companies, associations, government agencies, municipalities and other organizations. In 1981, Mr. Shallet sold his employee motivation program to Pratt & Whitney (however, that firm found that there was no market for it anymore and it was discontinued).
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info:

About the collection this poster comes from
Note that this is one of a collection of 10 "motivational" posters we are auctioning in ten separate auctions. Until six months ago, we had never seen or heard of these posters. But one of our consignors (a very long time collector) sent us 21 of them, and we auctioned them in April 21, 2011 auctions, and they sold for between $24 and $338 (and there were three that went over $200)!

Now, that same consignor discovered that he has more of these posters (but each with entirely different images from the first group of 21), and he has sent them to us! We picked out the ten with the best images and titles, and those are included in this auction, and the remainder (which are not as interesting as these) will be auctioned in a future auction of "rolled oversized" posters. There is only one of each of these really cool posters, and we still have never seen any others, so don't miss this great opportunity to add one or more of these wonderful posters to your collection.

Condition: good to very good. There is a water stain in the left of the bottom border, but it is fortunately entirely in the blank white area. The poster has creases, tears, and very tiny paper loss in the right end of the top blank border, and a few minor creases scattered in the image, but other than the above, the poster is in really nice condition!
