An Original Vintage Theatrical Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall, the 1924 Marshall Neilan silent English royalty romantic love triangle melodrama ("From the romantic novel by Charles Major"; about the rebellious daughter of an English lord who is required to marry her cousin on her 18th birthday, but instead she gets involved with a member of another hated family; but after she saves Queen Elizabeth's life, she is pardoned, and her and her new husband move to Wales) starring Mary Pickford (in the title role as Dorothy Vernon), Anders Randolf, Marc McDermott, Carrie Daumery, Allan Forrest, and Clare Eames (as Queen Elizabeth) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the defects described below, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restoration was done really well, and the poster displays really well! Condition: good to very good. The poster was gel backed (see above). This particular poster was folded by hand slightly to the right of center, which caused vertical separation running down the right of Pickford's hat and through her shoulder and hand, but missing her head and body. It had darkened. There was an 8" tear near the center of the top border, running down into the left of Pickford's hair and entering the edge of her cheek. There was paper loss in the bottom left corner, extending into the border art design and the very bottom of the background of the main image. There were some other tears and paper loss in the bottom border and in the top border, with a few small tears and tiny paper loss in the right border. There were some creases and scuffs scattered throughout the poster. The poster was gel backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects (which were mostly in the blank areas, except for the tears described above). The poster displays well (the restorer did not attempt to address the darkening, which I think was a wise idea, because it would have required much bleaching), and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored poster!
