An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Yellow Submarine, the 1968 George Dunning English/U.S. rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music psychedelic animated surrealism fantasy cartoon musical ("Nothing is real!"; "It's all in the mind y'know! - Paul McCartney"; "It's all in the mind y'know! - George Harrison"; "Eleven Beatle Songs"; "A dozen Beatle songs"; "The forces of Good!"; "The forces of Evil!"; "Based upon a song by John Lennon and Paul McCartney"; "From an original story by Lee Minoff") "starring Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", featuring the music of The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr) and the voices of The Beatles, Paul Angelis, John Clive, and Dick Emery NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned four examples of this poster (and the last time was in 2015 and it sold for $846!). Note also that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Also note this three-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with three-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded three-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than regularly folded three-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. Condition: good. The poster was almost surely attached to a piece of foamcore or cardboard with rubber cement (or something very much like it). Someone at a later time removed the poster from that backing and in doing so, they caused some small areas of surface paper loss on the back of the poster that made the paper "thinner" in those areas but really had very little effect on the front. Someone also glued a piece of brown kraft paper to the back of the poster behind the top center of the image, and it appears that someone tried to remove it, and in doing so, caused tears to the poster in Ringo's clothes and in the white background above his shoulder (see our image). The above defects sound worse than they are, because after a relatively simple linenbacking the poster will display really well, but bear all the above in mind before placing a bid on this poster.
