Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack Africa New York City giant ape fantasy romantic love triangle adventure horror thriller ("'The most awesome thriller of all time' the one and only"; "Not beast.. Not human.... Not devil.. But all three magnified! Raging.. Roaring.. Crushing.. Killing.."; "Strangest story ever conceived by man!"; "Out-leaping the maddest imaginings! Out-thrilling the wildest thrills!"; "See the living, fighting monsters of Creation's dawn rediscovered in the world today!"; "See the death-fight between giant ape and prehistoric dinosaur... the most amazing combat since the world began!"; "See the ape as big as a battleship wrecking New York!"; "Unique..! Thrilling! Startling!"; "From an idea conceived by Edgar Wallace & Merian C. Cooper"; based on the story by Edgar Wallace, with incredible special effects by Willis O'Brien) starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong (as Carl Denham), Bruce Cabot, Frank Reicher, and Sam Hardy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this really cool Italian poster before. Not only does it have wonderful completely different art of Kong on the Empire State Building (with bi-planes attacking, including a detailed close up plane in the foreground), but he is referred to on the poster as "King Gong", even though the title remains "King Kong"! There is a 1966 re-release Italian two-panel that has art by Casaro (and that same art was reused when the movie was re-released again in 1973), and we have auctioned those two re-releases for large amounts of money, but this poster is far more rare and years earlier! Note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good. The poster has pinholes around the edges and small tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of several folds. Someone put many small clear tape repairs on the back of parts of the foldlines and borders. After a relatively simple linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic!
