An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More) Il Viaggio di Maciste (literally translates to "Maciste's Journey"), the 1920 Carlo Campogalliani Italian silent ocean voyage melodrama starring Bartolomeo Pagano (in the title role as Maciste), Letizia Quaranta, Gabriel Moreau, Felice Minotti, Willi Allen, and Carlo Campogalliani. Note that Pagano was an Italian actor who portrayed Maciste from 1914 to 1928 in dozens of films (from sword & sandal epics to "modern" films), and was often billed under the name Maciste. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: J. Archambault Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned an example of this poster or ANY other movie paper for this title before! This is an extremely rare French poster from before World War II! Virtually no French posters survive from before World War II since apparently there were many paper shortages in Europe during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before and World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards. Condition: fair to good. There is separation, darkening, tears, and small paper loss on parts of the folds, with some tears and paper loss in the borders, and some small brown stains scattered in parts of the poster. Several significant portions of the folds have separated, and the upper left piece has completely separated from the poster (see our image). It is fragile. Learn More about condition grades
