An Original Vintage Theatrical French One-Panel Movie Poster (measures 47" x 63") (Learn More) Pardon My Sarong, the 1942 Erle C. Kenton South Seas tropical island romantic screwball comedy (about a pair of bus drivers who manage to steal their own bus, drive it into the ocean, and get involved with a rich playboy on his way to a tropical island, and also sinister jewel thieves) starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (Abbott and Costello), Virginia Bruce, Robert Paige, Leif Erickson, Lionel Atwill, Nan Wynn, Samuel S. Hinds, "Tip, Tap, and Toe Dancers", The Saronga Dancing Girls, "Those Sensational Harmony Hits" The Four Ink Spots, Marie McDonald (10th in the credits, and unbilled, though she would soon become famous as Marie "The Body" McDonald!), William Demarest, and Sig Arno NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Guy Gerard Noel Condition: very good. the back of the poster has darkened somewhat, but the front has only very slightly darkened, and there is only very slight darkening on the folds (unusual for a French poster from this period); there is a quarter-sized area of paper loss at the top left crossfold and there are tears in that foldline, starting 4" beneath that crossfold and extending to the bottom left crossfold, where there is a smaller amount of paper loss; there is separation and tiny paper loss at the other crossfolds; there is surface paper loss above and below the top and bottom right crossfolds; there are tiny tears and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster; there is small surface paper loss near the top center of the image (in the center of the palm tree). If the poster is linenbacked, the above relatively minor defects will be corrected, and the poster would look great, and it would not have much paint restoration anywhere on it!
