An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Artist's Model, the 1918 Jack Eaton silent romantic comedy short ("The Thomas A. Edison Studios present one of James Montgomery Flagg's 'Girls-You-Know'"; this was the fourth entry of a series of 13 shorts from Thomas Edison, each of which showcased a beautiful woman who was personally hand-picked by famous artist James Montgomery Flagg, and he created the posters for the series!; obviously, this entry would be the closest to Flagg's heart, because it dealt with an "artist's model"!) starring Mary Arthur, Arthur William Brown, Jack Eaton, and James Montgomery Flagg. Posters from this series are surely extremely rare! Note that this movie was produced by "Perfection Pictures". This was created in 1917 by a merger of three legendary film companies of the earlier 1910s, Essanay, Thomas A. Edison, Inc., and George Kleine. We know that Perfection Pictures produced at least a couple dozen movies between 1917 and 1925, and we suspect that they also re-released some movies from the above three studios that were made prior to 1917. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: James Montgomery Flagg Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold in the blank white area. It had some paper loss scattered near the middle of the bottom crossfold, but only blank white paper was affected, except for the tiniest bit at the bottom of the image. There was some paper loss in the bottom quarter of the vertical foldline. There was the most minor of wear on the other folds. There was small paper loss in the center of the bottom blank border and virtually nowhere in the rest of the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
