Date Sold 6/9/2013Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Pressbook (English pb; measures 11" x 17" [28 x 43 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) The Night My Number Came Up, the 1955 (released in the U.S. in 1956) Leslie Norman English Ealing British Royal Air Force (RAF) airplane aviation disaster suspense thriller ("12 men and a girl re-living a dream that foretold disaster"; "A journey through suspense on The Night My Number Came Up"; "13 in a plane - Destination... The unknown..."; "12 men and 1 woman lost at 20,000 feet"; about an RAF pilot who is about to take off with a plane full of passengers, and he has a strong premonition the plane will crash, and it seems as though his premonition is due to come true; oddly, there is little actual suspense in what might have been an extremely suspenseful movie, because it is told in flashback, so one knows from the outset that the plane did not in fact crash!) starring Michael Redgrave, Sheila Sim, Alexander Knox, Denholm Elliot, Ursula Jeans, and George Rose NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this English movie! Note that the centerfold of this pressbook is actually a removable full-color poster for the movie that measures 17" x 22"! This was done in many English pressbooks from this period, and it allowed frugal theater owners to remove that center page (which had no printing on the back), and use it either as an advance poster until their posters arrived, or not order any posters at all (and of course, many collectors remove these posters from the pressbooks and display them by themselves, or sell them as posters from the movie without the rest of the pressbook). Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this English pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this English pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is uncut and complete. There is minor wear at the spine. The full-color poster in the center is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
