An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Murder in Greenwich Village, the 1937 Albert S. Rogell New York City romantic courtroom legal lawyer crime murder mystery screwball comedy ("Blood-chilling mystery in New York's Bohemia!"; "An artist's corpse on the floor puts a beautiful model on the spot!"; "His arms were her alibi!"; "Terror stalks the studios"; about a lawyer who defends an artist's model who is also an heiress, who is accused of murdering the artist, and not surprisingly, he falls in love with his client; the movie has many wacky supporting actors, supposed to be typical Greenwich Village residents at that time) starring Richard Arlen, Fay Wray, Raymond Walburn, Wyn Cahoon, Scott Kolk, Thurston Hall, and Marc Lawrence NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a few tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds. It had water staining scattered down the left, extending into the image in a few areas. Unfortunately, a theater used this poster to advertise a special "Buck Nite", where they were apparently showing Buck Jones westerns, and there was much paint writing on the back of the poster. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. Someone backed the poster without performing restoration to the stains down the left, and leaving alone the paint on the back, which slightly bleeds through to the front in the foreheads of the stars (the sensation when looking at the poster is that there are some smudges in their foreheads, not that it is in much lesser condition). This is still a great and rare poster, but these are very significant defects, so bear them in mind before placing a bid on it. Learn More about condition grades
