An Original Vintage 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] News Photo (Learn More) Walt Disney was the legendary creator of Mickey Mouse and the Walt Disney Studios. He has brought to the screen dozens of feature-length cartoons and hundreds of animated shorts featuring all his lovable characters including Goofy, Donald Duck, Pluto, Alice, and more! Of course, he also had the foresight to create Disneyland and Disney World! He passed away in 1966 at the age of 65 AND Fess Parker was an actor from the 1950s to the 1970s and is best remembered for his role as Davy Crockett in Walt Disney's Davy Crockett TV movies. Some of his other movies include: Harvey, Them, Old Yeller, Hell is for Heroes, and Island in the Sky. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 85. Important Added Info: Note that this great news photo has a snipe on the back that is dated 6/17/55 and tells how Walt Disney and Fess Parker greeted Tennessee's governor. Of course, this was because Disney's Davy Crockett TV show had become a massive hit, and the snipe also mentions that department stores had offered Fess Parker $5,000 (a fortune in 1955!) to appear in person to pitch Davy Crockett merchandise, especially coonskin caps, which both Disney and Parker are wearing in the news photo, and Parker is holding a Davy Crockett guitar! Condition: fair to good. There is surface paper loss and remnants of a snipe across the bottom, with slight discoloration and staining in the bottom 2-3" of the photo.
