An Original Vintage Theatrical Style A Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Applause, the classic 1929 Rouben Mamoulian romantic musical melodrama (based on the novel by Beth Brown; about a woman who is a burlesque star, and she has a daughter that she doesn't want to be raised around that, so she sends her to a convent, and the movie skips far in the future where the once major star is now down and out, and her grown up daughter returns and is shocked and disgusted by her mother and that sends her into a tailspin, and she ends up working in a burlesque show herself) starring Helen Morgan, Joan Peers, Jack Singer, Henry Wadsworth, and Fuller Mellish Jr. Note that incredibly ironically, star Helen Morgan's real life career ended up paralleling the part she played in this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass.
