An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Domestic Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Bullitt, the classic 1968 Peter Yates San Francisco California crime car chase action thriller ("The word 'cop' isn't written all over him - something more puzzling is."; "There are bad cops and there are good cops - and then there's Bullitt."; "Bullitt comes to this theatre soon. That ought to shake up the place pretty good. Not many freaky cops like Bullitt around. You look at the Italian shoes and the turtleneck and you have to wonder. You listen to the official beefs about 'personal misconduct,' 'disruptive influence,' you figure he's got to be up for trade. But when some rare Chicago blood starts spilling in San Francisco, they give Bullitt the mop. They weren't exactly doing him a favor. But they've done a great big one for you."; "Detective Lt. Frank Bullitt - some other kind of cop. Pity the guy he works for."; "Based on the novel 'Mute Witness' by Robert L. Pike"; about a detective who drives a 1968 Ford Mustang GT fastback while pursuing professional hitmen who murdered the wrong guy and let's not forget the really cool chase scenes!) starring Steve McQueen (in the title role "as Bullitt"), Robert Vaughn, Jacqueline Bisset, Don Gordon, Robert Duvall, Simon Oakland, and Norman Fell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned four international style six-sheets from this classic movie, but we have NEVER before auctioned this domestic style (which has a rating in the bottom right which the international style does not)! Note that this poster was stamped "DOMESTIC" which means it was printed for use within the United States (there would also have been posters stamped "FOREIGN" for use outside the United States). Also note that this six-sheet was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good. The poster was used in a theater and was attached to a wall with pairs of staple holes around the edges. There are creases, smudges and ripples scattered throughout with some darkening on the back of a small part of a section that was on the outside when it was fully folded. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that much or most of the creases, smudges and ripples can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on this very rare and desirable poster.
