An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Snookums Disappears, the 1927 Gus Meins silent screwball comedy short ("Snookums, Lovey & Dovey one of the famous 'Nelyweds and Their Baby' comedies by George McManus"; McManus was the cartoon genius who started "Bringing Up Father" in 1913; before that, he had drawn some other newspaper comic strips including a series of "Let George Do It" strips; in 1916, animated cartoons were adapted from "Bringing Up Father", but they were not very successful; in 1924, the Stern Brothers signed to do a series of live action adaptations of the "Let George Do It" cartoons, and they were very successful, spawning a long series, and two years later, there were live action "Bringing Up Father" movies, and another year later live action movies based on the "Newlyweds and Their Baby" comic strip) starring Syd Saylor, Thelyne Clair, Sunny Jim McKeen (in the title role as Snookums). Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. There were many creases and tears around the edges of the poster, with a few of the tears extending into the edges of the image background. There were a few slight defects scattered within the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
