An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Tugboat Annie, the 1933 Mervyn LeRoy nautical seafaring sailor romantic comedy ("America's Sweethearts Together Again!"; "Based on the Saturday Evening Post stories by Norman Reilly Raine") starring Marie Dressler (in the title role as Tugboat Annie), Wallace Beery, Robert Young, Maureen O'Sullivan, and Willard Robertson. Note that this movie was a big hit. MGM would have surely made a sequel, but Dressler passed away the following year. In 1940, they tried to revive the series with the sequel, "Tugboat Annie Sails Again", seven years later, with Marjorie Rambeau taking over the lead role. It likely was not very successful, because there were no more sequels with her, and it was not until 1945 that MGM tried yet again, this time with Jane Darwell in the lead role in "Captain Tugboat Annie". Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster is somewhat discolored and there are some water stains around the edges. There is separation at the ends of the foldlines and some tattering and paper loss around the edges of the poster. There are a few pieces of tape on the back around the edges of the poster but they were not put there for any restoration purpose. There is a 1" tear and small stain at upper left and there are some scuffs and smudges scattered throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
