What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some tiny paper loss at the crossfolds, with a 1 1/2" tear at the top center crossfold. It had tiny tears, creases, smudges, and scuffs scattered on parts of the folds and in most of the white background areas. It had tack holes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
