An Original Vintage Autographed English 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" Postcard (Learn More) Madeleine Carroll was an English actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was a beautiful, classy blonde, just the type that Alfred Hitchcock would want for all of his later movies, and it is not surprising that she had starring roles in two classic Alfred Hitchcock movies: "The 39 Steps" and "Secret Agent". In 1935, Alexander Korda sold her contract to Paramount, and they put her in a series of movies, billing her as "the most beautiful woman in the world". Some of her other movies include: The Prisoner of Zenda, North West Mounted Police, and My Favorite Blonde. She passed away in 1987 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: Note that this English postcard (which is a "Tuck's Post Card") has been personally autographed (signed) by Madeleine Carroll, and it has standard postcard printing on the reverse, and it has never been mailed. Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who regularly attended the Chiller collectible show. This signed item (and the others offered from this collector) were purchased at a Chiller convention over the years. In some cases, he had them signed by the celebrity when they appeared in person at the show, and in other cases, he purchased them from Kevin Clement, who runs the Chiller shows, and in all cases, he (and we) believe this signature is authentic.
