the 1942 Italian double-bill release of Seven Years Bad Luck, the 1921 Max Linder U.S./French silent superstition slapstick comedy ("The funniest five reel comedy ever made"; about a man who breaks a mirror, and then he tries to do all he can to avoid getting the inevitable bad luck, but everything he does brings him more bad luck; written by, directed by, and starring the legendary Max Linder) starring Max Linder, Alta Allen, Betty K. Peterson (billed as "Betty Peterson"), Lola Gonzales, Harry Mann, Chance Ward, Ralph McCullough, Hugh Saxon, and F.B. Crayne. Note that this was one of the seven movies Max Linder in America after he was a victim of mustard gas in World War I, which severely weakened him. In 1925, he returned to France, and he and his wife jointly committed suicide. Linder was a giant of early French cinema, and he pre-dated Charlie Chaplin and the other great silent American comedians, all of whom were greatly influenced by his work! AND Der Zirkuskonig (released in the U.S. as "King of the Circus"), the 1925 Edouard-Emile Violet Austrian/French silent slapstick comedy starring Max Linder, Eugen Burg, Gyula Szoreghy, Ernst Gunther, Vilma Banky, Viktor Franz, and Kurt Kasnar
