An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Autographed One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Spider Woman (also released as "Sherlock Holmes and the Spider Woman"), the 1944 Roy William Neill detective murder mystery crime thriller ("Mistress of Murder!"; "Based on a story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle") starring Basil Rathbone ("as Sherlock Holmes"), Nigel Bruce ("as Doctor Watson"), Dennis Hoey, Vernon Downing, Mary Gordon, Gale Sondergaard (in the title role "as The Spider Woman"), Paul Cavanagh, Arthur Hohl, Miles Mander, Belle Mitchell, and Alec Craig NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Gale Sondergaard (she signed her name in the bottom blank border below her image)! Condition: good to very good. This poster was linenbacked, and it had fairly significant defects which were somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). the poster had paper loss at each crossfold; there was tape down the back of the top 1/4 of the vertical foldline and tape behind the bottom crossfold that slightly discolored the poster; there were tears near the bottom crossfold; there were some tears, creases, and smudges along the other foldlines; there were tears, creases, smudges, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The poster was very nicely linenbacked, and the above defects were well corrected, and the poster displays quite nicely! Learn More about condition grades
