A Linenbacked Advertising Poster (measures 42 1/2" x 47 3/4" [108 x 121 cm]) (Learn More) Gaymode, the circa 1930s advertising poster ("Solve stocking problems like magic") promoting the purchase of Gaymode silk hosiery, and featuring an image of a sexy woman enjoying the product. We tried to find out exactly when this poster dates to, but we had little success. We found some newspaper ads for this product from 1939, but of course, the poster might have been made before or after that time. We do know that the introduction of nylon at the end of the 1930s severely limited the silk stocking market, so there is a good chance that this predates 1940. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
