An Undated (probably 1944) Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Red River Valley, the 1936 B. Reeves Eason Texas singing cowboy western musical ("Screen Play and Original Story by Stuart E. McGowan and Dorrell McGowan"; "Your singing son of the saddle braves dynamite death to clear himself of the bandit brand!"; "The screen's new singing cowboy star") starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Boothe Howard, Frances Grant, Jack Kennedy, and Champion (Gene Autry's horse). Note that this was Gene Autry's sixth movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the poster originally read "A RE-ISSUE" in tiny letters under the title. Someone painted over this area (either before or after linenbacking), and the person who restored the poster did additional restoration to that area, and now I would think most collectors would have no idea it had never been there, and therefore might assume this is an original release one-sheet (although, it has a different image from the first release one-sheet, and the litho number gives it away as being from the 1940s). Please do not bid on this poster unless you have read the above carefully! Condition: good. The poster had a "RE-ISSUE" line beneath the title that was painted over . There was tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases and tiny surface paper loss on some foldlines. There were pinholes in the corners and some minor border defects. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but I disagree about painting over the line that read "A RE-ISSUE"!
