An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The People vs. Dr. Kildare (released outside the U.S. as "My Life is Yours"), the 1941 Harold S. Bucquet doctor hospital courtroom legal lawyer medical malpractice melodrama sequel ("#7 The case of the girl with the million dollar legs!"; one of the very popular series of movies featuring this character and his crusty old mentor, Dr. Gillespie; about a champion ice skater who breaks her leg in a car crash and Dr. Kildare is a Good Samaritan at the scene who operates on her, but after she recovers, her leg is paralyzed, and she sues him and the hospital for $100,000, which was a jillion times more money in 1941!) starring Lew Ayres (in the title role as Doctor James Kildare), Lionel Barrymore (as Doctor Gillespie), Laraine Day (as Nurse Mary Lamont), Bonita Granville (as an ice skater who sues Kildare), Alma Kruger, Red Skelton (in his fifth movie!), Paul Stanton, Diana Lewis, and Dwight Frye (here he is unbilled, and plays the jury foreman!). Certainly, the plot of this movie is just as relevant today as it was in 1941, and this movie could easily be re-made today! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had many tears and small areas of paper loss in the vertical fold and on parts of the horizontal folds. It had pinholes and tears around the edges, with some small paper loss in the left and right blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was mounted onto a thin linen with no excess. It wasn't mounted very well, but the poster can be easily removed from the thin linen (it is already separating), and it may be able to just be "pulled apart". Afterwards, any talented restorer could surely properly linenback the poster, and most of the defects are quite "restorable". But while it can be "rescued", please carefully read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
