Artist: Bob McCall Important Added Info: Note that MGM created two different subway posters for the very first release of this movie in Cinerama in 1968. This one has the Bob McCall space wheel art, and the other has Bob McCall art of astronauts on the moon. The last time we auctioned an example of this poster, it sold for $8,950, but that was an unbacked unrestored example in "very good to fine" condition! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some paper loss in the left of the bottom blank border, but solely blank white paper. It had two tiny areas of paper loss scattered in the left of the top blank border. It had paper loss scattered across the right 15" of the top blank border, but again, all blank white paper. There was a tiny bit of surface paper loss in the top right corner of the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. Because of the value of the poster, it was linenbacked by a great professional, and he performed expert restoration to the borders and the tiny bit of surface paper loss in the top right corner of the image (the rest of the poster was in excellent condition). The poster displays wonderfully and you can't tell it has had the border restoration it has had, even when looking closely at it. It will look incredible on the new owner's wall!
