An Unfolded Swiss Advertising Poster (measures 27 1/4" x 37 1/2" [69 x 95 cm]) (Learn More) Mollar, the 1940s Swiss advertising poster promoting the purchase of a Mollar watch, and featuring great artwork of a Mollar automatic watch, stars and planets. We asked the best watch dealer we know, Jeff Hess of hessfineart.com, to tell us what he could find out about this obscure company, and he discovered that there is "a connection from this company (Mollar) with the companies MIDO and Schaeren with registration entries from 1923 until 1945". Therefore, this poster could theoretically be from as early as the 1920s, but seems more likely to be from the 1940s (and the company was still in existence in the 1950s, so it could date from that time as well). If anyone knows more about this poster (and the possible Arabic writing on it), please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It had a minor printing defect in the lower right border that resulted in a 2" diagonal crease going into the blue background with a tiny tear at the right end of that in the blank border.
