An Original Vintage Christmas Holiday Card (measures 3 1/4" x 5") (Learn More) Cinefantastique was a horror, fantasy, and science fiction (sci-fi) film magazine published by science fiction writer Frederick S. Clarke (there had earlier been a mimeographed fanzine by that name in 1967). It was totally different from its main competitors, Famous Monsters of Filmland and The Monster Times because it was printed on slick paper and it had more intelligently written articles! A few of the first issues had no color, even on the covers, but Clarke quickly realized he needed color, and it was added soon after. There were very few ads, so each issue had FAR more actual content than similar magazines of that era (and it had many professional images illustrating each article). It was personally published by Mr. Clarke until his passing in 2000. It continued under different publishers, with name changes. Artist: Prigge Condition: good to very good.
