An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Vacation From Love, the 1938 George Fitzmaurice romantic comedy melodrama ("Forbidden Fruits are the Funniest!"; "Original Story and Screen play by Patterson McNutt and Harlan Ware"; about a couple who have marital problems, and they separate and each finds a new companion, but they eventually realize they belong together) starring Dennis O'Keefe, Florence Rice, Reginald Owen, June Knight, and Edward Brophy. Note that June Knight was a striking blonde who appeared in 12 movies between 1930 and 1940, two of them in uncredited roles. Perhaps she had bad luck, but her movies were very forgettable, and she is completely forgotten today. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, smudges, and fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds, with some staining in the upper left blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
