An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Fountainhead, the 1949 King Vidor romantic love triangle philosophical principles architecture Objectivism melodrama ("Monumental best-seller! Towering screen triumph!"; "'Nobody takes what's mine!'"; "A picture to remember from Warner Bros."; "Warner Bros.' Towering Triumph"; "No man takes what's mine!"; "The great best seller made greater on the screen by Warner Bros."; "Screen Play by Ayn Rand from her Novel 'The Fountainhead'"; about a dedicated architect who refuses to compromise his principles, regardless of the cost; amazingly, Rand managed to keep much of the essence of her very wordy novel on screen; Rand herself picked Gary Cooper for the lead, and he had a serious affair with his much younger co-star Patricia Neal) starring Gary Cooper (as Howard Roark; "This is his role of roles!"), Patricia Neal (as Dominique Francon), Raymond Massey (as Gail Wynand), Kent Smith (as Peter Keating), Robert Douglas (as Ellsworth Toohey), Henry Hull (as Henry Cameron), Ray Collins (as Roger Enright), and Jerome Cowan (as Alvah Scarret) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1949, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. The still is in very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
