An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Television Spy, the 1939 Edward Dmytryk science fiction (sci-fi) spy espionage crime thriller ("The thrills of science's newest miracle... packed into the year's most sensational action drama!"; "Paramount's new mile-a-minute, up-to-the-minute thrill-film!"; about a scientist who invents a television device called the Iconoscope, which spies find out about and want to steal it) starring William Henry, Judith Barrett, William Collier Sr., Anthony Quinn and Richard Denning. Note that the six-sheet for this movie has a tagline that refers to television as "science's newest miracle", but we doubt if 1939 scientists could ever have anticipated how much television would eventually become a part of everyday life!
