Auction History Result Lot #: #104 DR TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS #7 lobby card '43 bad news!! Date Sold 12/18/2004Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 8 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Dr Terror's House of Horrors, the 1943 horror thriller compilation ("It's Ghastly, It's Horrorific, It's out of this world!"; "For the first time on any screen! Zombies - Vampires - Ghouls - Voodoo Rites"; it is ironic that they used the tagline talking about "the first time on any screen", since this movie contains 7 segments that are re-edited condensed versions from six rare obscure horror classics! The six movies are White Zombie [1932], The Flaming Signal [1933], The Return of Chandu [1934], The Golem [1936 Czechoslovakian version], Ghastly Tales [Unheimliche Geschichten 1932], and Vampyr [1932]) starring (among many others) Henriette Gerard, Ferdinand Hart, Jany Holt, and Mischa Auer. Also note that the item offered here is DEFINITELY from the 1943 version of Dr Terror's House of Horrors (not to be confused with the 1965 Christopher Lee film). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that only a few lobby cards have ever surfaced on this incredibly obscure compilation movie! Since there are virtually no lobby cards known to exist from five of the six movies this movie is compiled from (the exception is "The Return of Chandu"), acquiring a lobby card from this movie that shows a scene from one of the five movies is probably the only realistic way to get a lobby card from those movies! It may be quite some time before even one of these lobby cards are offered for sale again, much less a complete set! NOTE: In this case, the #7 in the title of the sale is not the number of the lobby card. Because we are selling more than one lobby card from this movie this week as separate eBay sales, we needed to differentiate the different sales, and we did so by marking them "#1, #2, #3, etc..". Condition: fine. minor stains in the left blank border, but other than the above, the card is in wonderful condition and I can't imagine a collector who would not be happy owning it!
