In a re-match of the 1896 race, Republican President William McKinley defeated his Democratic challenger, William Jennings Bryan. McKinley's victory made him the first president to win consecutive re-election since Ulysses S. Grant had accomplished the same feat in 1872. William McKinley's running mate was Theodore Roosevelt, who succeeded McKinley after his assassination in 1901. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. The ballot has darkened somewhat with age and it has a large tear at upper center and some smaller tears around the edges and most are or were repaired with tape from the back that heavily bled through to the front.
