If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that (for unknown reasons) original 1940 release movie paper is extremely rare! It was 10 years ago that we auctioned the one-sheet poster, and over that 10 years since, we have only auctioned some lobby cards on three occasions! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had extra creases above and below most of the foldlines with paper loss at the crossfolds and a thin strip of paper loss in the vertical foldline below the "N" of "PHANTOM" in the title. There were pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
