An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Herald (measures 5" x 7 1/4" [13 x 18 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Road to Dishonour (also released as "The Flame of Love"), the 1930 Richard Eichberg & Walter Summers English/German historical romantic melodrama ("All Talking Singing and Dancing"; about a Chinese cabaret singer who is romanced by a lecherous duke, and then her brother intercedes, and her brother is sentenced to death, and she will do anything to save him) starring Anna May Wong ("The Exotic Queen of Screen Drama in her first Talkie!"; "SEE and HEAR the alluring Anna May Wong in her first talkie"), John Longden, Georg H. Schnell, Mona Goya, Percy Standing, and Fred Schwarz. This was an English version of "The Flame of Love", made by British International Pictures in 1930. Universal did the same thing with "Dracula" in 1931. They filmed the movie twice, once in English, and once in Spanish, with two entirely different casts, U.S. actors for the English version and mostly Latin actors for the Spanish version, obviously for release in Spanish speaking countries, and the same was done with this movie, except it was released in German, English, and French (the French language version, "Hai-Tang", starred Anna May Wong and Marcel Vilbert, and the German version, "Der Weg zur Schande" starred Anna May Wong and Francis Lederer). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this movie is extremely rare. We have only previously auctioned a single U.S. still from this movie (which did not show Anna May Wong), and NO other movie paper of any kind, until we received this English herald, which is a "country of origin" item for this partially English movie, and which has a great art image of Wong on the cover and two photographic images of her!

Condition: good to very good.
