An Original Vintage German Campaign Book (measures 9" x 12 1/4" [23 x 31 cm]; 29 pages) (Learn More) United Artists 1926-27, the 1926 German campaign book sent to theater owners to encourage them to show their new movies including The General (Buster Keaton), The Circus (Charlie Chaplin), The Black Pirate and The Three Musketeers (Douglas Fairbanks Sr.), Beloved Rogue (John Barrymore and Conrad Veidt), Son of the Sheik (Rudolph Valentino), Mary Pickford, Norma Talmadge, Gloria Swanson, and more. Campaign books in general are extremely rare, but ones from Germany from before World War II are even more rare, and ones from the silent days are beyond rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this German campaign book! It has the name "Charles E. Kuehle" printed in gold at the bottom of the cover, so this was the example given to him personally, but we were unable to find out who he was (likely an executive at United Artists in Germany). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. There is darkening in the center of the seal on the cover. There is a glassine sheet that was bound into the book, and it caused the first interior page, which is all text, to have light brown staining around the edges. Otherwise, the book is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
