An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Eagle and the Hawk, the 1933 Stuart Walker World War I (WWI) military romantic love triangle Royal Air Force Squadron airplane aviation fighter pilot thriller ("They dedicated their lives... to Death!"; "Live with Men who don't live long!"; "By the author or 'Wings'"; a wild story of American pilots in the RAF in World War I; an ace pilot has great animosity for an "observer", the person who flies with the pilot and helps spot the enemy, but they must fly missions together; the pilot finally succumbs to the endless stress and commits suicide, and the observer wants him to remain a hero, so he takes his body up in a plane and makes it look like he was killed in action) starring Fredric March, Cary Grant, Carole Lombard (third billed in this war movie, in a small role, playing "The Beautiful Lady"!), Jack Oakie, and Guy Standing. Note that this was still early enough in Cary Grant's career that he had the unsympathetic role of the observer, while Fredric March had the glamorous role of the ace war pilot! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that while we have auctioned several scene cards from this movie over the years, this is the first one we have auctioned that shows Carole Lombard, and it has a wonderful close up of her and Fredric March! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There is a 1" vertical thumbnail crease in Lombard's cheek and someone performed slight restoration to that area, but it is still noticeable. There is a 1 1/2" tear in the right of the bottom border that was repaired with tape from the back, and someone also performed slight touch up to part of that tear. The card had faint water staining in the top right corner extending through part of March's hat, and the same person who restored the above defects likely performed slight restoration to the top right corner. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card. Learn More about condition grades
