eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result t001 DRACULA one-sheet movie poster R51 Bela Lugosi spider web image! Date Sold 10/31/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1951 Realart Re-release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Dracula, the classic 1931 Tod Browning Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("The Greatest of all Horror Thrillers"; "The Vampire Thriller!"; "The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!"; "Do vampires really exist?"; "From the famous novel & play by Bram Stoker") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Count Dracula), David Manners, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye (if there had been a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1931, Frye would have surely won it for his wild over-the-top portrayal as Renfield!), Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Abraham Van Helsing), Frances Dade, and Herbert Bunston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. There is tiny separation and very tiny paper loss at each of the crossfolds. There are creases and tiny surface scuffs on some foldlines. There is a 1/2" tear in the left of the top blank border (above the "T" of "Thrill") and there is very tiny separation at the ends of each of the horizontal foldlines. The poster was very lightly folded over 1 1/2" above the top foldline resulting in a very light additional horizontal crease 1 1/2" above and below the top and bottom foldlines. There are some incredibly tiny tears in the bottom 6" of the right blank border and some minor creases and smudges around the edges of the poster. THE POSTER HAS NEVER HAD ANY RESTORATION OF ANY KIND, AND THERE IS NO TAPE ANYWHERE ON THE FRONT OR BACK OF THE POSTER! The only thing on the back of the poster is the original NSS stamp, and someone wrote the NSS number (51-680) in 2" high numbers across the NSS stamp (which is to the left of the top quarter of the vertical foldline), and they also wrote the NSS number on the reverse side of the poster (to the right of the top quarter of the vertical foldline). Both those numbers are written in the typical black grease pencil used at the time to write NSS numbers, and neither of those numbers or the NSS stamp show through to the front at all. There is nothing else whatsoever written or stamped on the back of the poster. The poster is generally in nice unrestored condition, with truly minor defects. I doubt there are many unlinenbacked examples of this great poster still surviving, and I wonder how many of them have absolutely no restoration, as this one does! Learn More about condition grades
