An Original Vintage Folded World War I Poster (measures 20 3/4" x 28 3/4" [53 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) Save and Serve the Cause of Freedom, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster ("1-wheat use more corn" "2-meat use more fish & beans"; "3-fats use just enough"; "4-sugar use syrups") encouraging people to ration food and featuring art by Frederic G. Cooper! Artist: Frederic G. Cooper Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable group of around 100 guaranteed authentic mostly war posters (around 75 war posters, plus 25 others, including political ones) mostly dating from before 1900 through 1945, with 15 from after that date! These were originally acquired by an archive decades ago, and they have been in storage ever since, until they were recently consigned to us. Many of these are the sorts of posters that you can find reproductions of on the Internet, but finding guaranteed originals like these is incredibly difficult (years can go by before these are offered for sale or at auction). This is a very rare opportunity to purchase any of these more than 100 posters! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was likely issued folded. Surely soon after it was created, it acquired a 1" tear in the top border, and then it was mounted onto a thin linen with no excess, no doubt to preserve it. It acquired creases around the edges, but is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
