A 1949 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Ape Man, the 1943 William Beaudine science fiction (sci-fi) monster horror thriller (based on the story by Karl Brown) starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as the monster, Dr. James Brewster), Louise Currie, Wallace Ford, Henry Hall, Minerva Urecal, and Emil Van Horn (as the gorilla). Note that Ray 'Crash' Corrigan and Charles Gemora were two actors who played lots of gorillas in movies in the 1930s and 1940s. Emil Van Horn and Jack Leonard each played around a dozen gorillas, and interestingly, that was all they did (no doubt all four of them owned a gorilla suit!). There are several tack holes and tears and small areas of paper loss scattered throughout the poster with most repaired with tape from the back and some from the front.
