Bret Harte's The Outcasts of Poker Flat, the 1937 Christy Cabanne California mining western melodrama (adapted from one of the most famous short stories of all time, written by Bret Harte; about very different people from a small town trapped in a cabin during a vicious storm; the original story was "fleshed out" with much added material, but it seems to have been pretty faithful to the original) starring Preston Foster, Jean Muir, Van Heflin (in his second movie role!), Virginia Weidler, Margaret Irving, Frank M. Thomas, Si Jenks, Dick Elliott, Al 'Fuzzy' St. John, Bradley Page, and Richard Lane
