An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Doctor Monica, the 1934 William Keighley female medical doctor infidelity marriage romantic love triangle pregnancy melodrama (based on the play by Maria Morozowicz-Szczepkowska; about a husband who cheats on his obstetrician wife with her friend, and she is put in the extremely uncomfortable position of delivering a baby for her friend that was fathered by her husband!) starring Kay Francis (in the title role as Dr. Monica Brayden), Jean Muir, Warren William, Verree Teasdale, and Emma Dunn NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned three different scene cards (one of which was 17 years ago, two of which showed Kay Francis, and the last one that showed Francis sold for $1,550), an Argentinean poster, and some stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this title lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: very good. The card had tiny pinholes and smudges around the edges, with a small tear in the right of the top blank border. It had a tiny dot stain in the left of Francis' hat. Overall, the card was in very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the card displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
