Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the classic 1923 Wallace Worsley Universal silent Paris France Notre Dame Cathedral romantic religious historical horror melodrama ( "'Mighty Epic of a Mighty Epoch'"; adapted from the equally classic novel by Victor Hugo) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (in the title role as "Quasimodo", the Hunchback of Notre Dame), Patsy Ruth Miller (as Esmerelda), Norman Kerry, Kate Lester, Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918), and Winifred Bryson. Note that there was a wonderful sound remake of this classic silent movie in 1939, with Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara in the lead roles. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. the card is paperbacked; prior to restoration it appears that the card was tattered around the edges extending into the black background areas; it appears that the restorer painted over much of the red borders and the edges of the black background, but they did so expertly that I would think few people could tell, unless it was specifically pointed out to them; it does not appear that the title or image has had virtually any restoration of any kind!
