Compared to Dagwood... you're doing wonderfully!"; "An 'oomph' gal is after him! Blondie's leaving him... for Reno! He buys champagne --and daisy drinks it!"; "An old flame singes Dagwood... While Blondie Burns!"; "Balance your fun budget!"; one of the highly successful series of "Blondie" movies; based on the classic Blondie comic strip by Chic Young) starring Penny Singleton (in the title role "as Blondie"), Arthur Lake ("as Dagwood Bumstead"), Larry Simms ("as Baby Dumpling"), Rita Hayworth ("Stunning Rita Hayworth helps make it The Best Of The 'Blondies'"; in an early role as a sexy woman who tempts Dagwood), Danny Mummert, and Daisy (the dog). Note that at this time, Columbia recognized what an asset Rita Hayworth was, and even though she was not yet a major star, they "found" parts for her in many of their movies in the late 1930s and very early 1940s (she had roles in an amazing 30 movies between 1937 and 1942!). Important Added Info: Note that in October of 2017, we auctioned a wonderful collection of 27 photos (most measured 3.5x5.25, but some measured slightly smaller) that were taken by a man who worked at a large movie theater in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He created wonderful theater fronts and homemade posters (some that were displayed outside the theater and some inside the theater), and after he finished making his displays, he would take a picture of each and then he put them in a scrapbook. Collectors rightfully bid aggressively on these photos, and all but 4 auctioned for more than $20 each, and 7 sold for $100 or more, with two selling for over $300 each! We later offered another 27 more photos from this amazing scrapbook, and this is one of those photos that has been reconsigned to us! Condition: very good.
