What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had an extra horizontal fold above the regular bottom one. It had tears and paper loss in the top 15" of the vertical fold and someone had put tape on the back of that area and also tape on the back of the left half of the top fold. There were some creases and tiny tears on the rest of the folds and in the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone backed the poster and only did slight restoration to the above defects, and pretty much left alone the entire top of the vertical fold, which is very noticeable. Certainly, a modern day restorer could either perform additional restoration on the poster while backed, or, more likely, re-back it, and the poster will display well, but bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this poster.
