An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Sin Sister, the 1929 Charles Klein silent stranded-in-Alaska adventure romantic melodrama (based on the story by Frederick Hazlitt Brennan & Becky Gardiner; similar to The Outcasts of Poker Flats; about a group of people in difficult conditions in Alaska and their very different reactions) starring Nancy Carroll, Lawrence Gray, Josephine Dunn, Myrtle Stedman, and Anders Randolf NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was in pretty nice condition prior to backing, but there were a lot of diagonal creases in the top 3" of the image area and also in the area to the left of Carroll's face (in her hair). There was a long diagonal crease just above "WILLIAM FOX" in the center of the poster. Fortunately, these extra creases were not in Carroll's face. There were tears, pinholes, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, but they did not affect the image. The poster had really expert linenbacking and the extra creases are truly not at all noticeable or distracting, and the poster really has very little paint restoration anywhere on it.
