Date Sold 6/22/2014 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 3 Marilyn Monroe ink blotters. They are from 1948, before she became famous, and they are technically not of her. They are from when she posed for famous pin-up artist Earl Moran in 1948 (right before she became famous), and you can certainly tell that she was the model, and the art is fantastic! They are absolutely original 1948 blotters (in case you were wondering, in the days of fountain pens, people kept a blotter, which was a piece of cardboard on their desk to soak up excess ink; you can tell if a blotter has been used or not by whether or not it has ink on the back!). Measurements: 3 3/4" x 9"Condition: very good to fine. One of the blotters has some ink on the back and the other two appear unused. All three have the minor aging (see our image).
