An Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Campaign Book (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 18 pages) (Learn More) London Films 1934, the 1934 English campaign book ("Head and shoulders above the rest") featuring London Films movies and stars from 1934 and 1935, including such films as: Things to Come, Bosambo, Henry VIII, Catherine The Great, The Private Life of Don Juan, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and more! The book is spiral-bound, and it has a clear plastic cover that says "HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THE REST!" on it (see our images). What is really great about this campaign book is that it includes a great 2-page ad for Things to Come (the ad for it has both working titles: The Shape of Things to Come and Whither Mankind?, but not "Things to Come"), and while the book is from 1934, it says that the movie was scheduled for January 1935, but actually, it was not completed until February of 1936. It also has a great 2-page ad for "Sanders of the River" with Paul Robeson under its English title of "Bosambo", and it says that it will be completed in November 1934, but it actually opened in April 1935! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that any promotional material from London Films is incredibly rare. We have previously auctioned a 1948 Australian campaign book for this company, but otherwise, this is the only London Films campaign book we have ever auctioned, and it is one of the best ones there could be, because it includes Things To Come and Sanders of the River! Condition: good to very good. The plastic cover sheet has tears at top left and is rippled. There is a sticker attached to the top right of the actual cover that reads "LOS ARTISTAS ASOCIADOS", indicating it was sent to a Spanish speaking country, but the entire book is in English, and this is just an added sticker. Also, there is a non-studio sticker in a blank area on the first interior page (which is clearly shown in the auction images). Otherwise, the book is in pretty nice condition!
