An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures approximately 22 1/2" x 32") (Learn More) Le Mepris (released in English-speaking countries as "Contempt"), the 1963 (released in the U.S. in 1964) Jean-Luc Godard French/Italian movie-making romantic love triangle melodrama ("Bardot is the body beautiful... she knows it... and she shows it!"; "Based on the novel by Alberto Moravia"; a very complex story about a screenwriter who is assigned by his producer to make a screenplay of "The Odyssey" more commercial, and he has a beautiful young wife who believes he wants her to sleep with the producer to help his career) starring Brigitte Bardot, Jack Palance, Michel Piccoli, Fritz Lang, and Giorgia Moll. Note that the director of the movie-within-the-movie is identified as Fritz Lang, and the legendary director plays himself! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Georges Allard Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this partially French movie! Condition: very good to fine. The poster was folded once in each direction and it had tiny paper loss at the crossfold and fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period).
