Date Sold 4/9/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 7 Original Vintage Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 10" x 13" [25 x 33 cm]) (Learn More) White Cargo, the 1942 Richard Thorpe British-in-Africa plantation romantic love triangle interracial romantic melodrama ("I Am Tondelayo!"; "From the stage play by Leon Gordon"; "Based on a novel by Ida Vera Simonton") starring Hedy Lamarr ("as Tondelayo"), Walter Pidgeon, Frank Morgan, Richard Carlson, Reginald Owen, and Henry O'Neill. Note that this was a notorious play from the 1920s that was toned down greatly for its Hollywood adaptation (most notably the title character was black in the original play, but became Egyptian/Arab in the movie). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this group of seven lobby cards includes the title card! Note also that these lobby cards have been trimmed and they now measure 10" x 13" [25 x 33 cm]. This is one of three sets of Hedy Lamarr lobby cards where all the cards were trimmed to 10" x 13" (two sets have seven cards and one has eight cards). They are from nice titles, but all the cards have this trimming, and they were also all attached to album pages so they have many glue stains and areas of paper reside on the back, but from the front they display pretty well other than the trimming! Condition: good. All the cards were neatly trimmed to 10" x 13" and have glue stains and areas of paper reside on the back.
