An Original Vintage Unfolded German Stage Play Poster (measures 33 1/4" x 46 3/4" [84 x 119 cm]) (Learn More) Bauwerk Werkstatt Statttheater (literally translates to "Building Workshop Statttheater"), the 1986 German stage poster promoting a theater event to be held in Osnabruck, Germany in January of 1987. Note that this poster features wild art of blocks and arrows by Holger Matthies. Note that this poster features a design by Holger Matthies. Holger Matthies is a German graphic artist from the 1970s to the present. Over the course of more than four decades, he has designed more than 1000 posters, making him one of the world's most prolific poster artists. He is best known for his designs for theater and opera productions, exhibitions, concerts, and political satire shows. His portfolio is further swelled by social and political posters, cover designs for magazines and books, as well as numerous LP and CD covers. He has said that, "Posters should be like pocket knives - spring open, dissect and get under the skin." If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Please note that this is one of the first 226 items we are currently auctioning in this set of auctions are mostly non-movie posters (and most of them are from countries outside the U.S.). It occurred to us that it makes far more sense to auction these in our auction of "special posters" (which also includes lots of non-movie posters) than in our auctions of "oversized rolled" items that include many U.S. posters (like banners, 40x60s, etc). This item needs to be shipped in a tube over 30" (perhaps much longer). WHILE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS POSTER CAN BE COMBINED WITH THE 773 SPECIAL POSTERS THAT FOLLOWS THE FIRST 226, THERE ARE ALSO MANY CASES WHERE IT CAN NOT BE COMBINED. The main reason for this would be if you buy many of the regular posters and a small number of the very oversized ones. If they were combined, the very oversized one would surely become damaged, so in that case, it would need to go in its own tube, and please bear this in mind before bidding on this very oversized poster.
