An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Virginia, the 1941 Edward H. Griffith romantic love triangle melodrama ("Based on a Story by Edward H. Griffith and Virginia Van Upp"; basically, this movie was a rip-off of "Gone with the Wind", with Carroll & MacMurray standing in for Leigh & Gable) starring Madeleine Carroll, Fred MacMurray, Sterling Hayden (incorrectly billed as "Stirling Hayden" in his first movie role!), Helen Broderick, Marie Wilson, Carolyn Lee, Louise Beavers, and Darby Jones. Note that Hayden and Carroll married shortly after this film was made. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. The poster has darkened somewhat and it has some creases and tears of varying lengths (generally 1" or less but some are larger) along portions of some edges (partially repaired with tape from the back). There is a large amount of an odd brown tape on back at left (not put there for any restoration purpose). After proper restoration the ultra poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
