Note that, although this movie was filmed in 3-D, none of the original posters mention it at all (there is an explanation in the pressbook that because they know many theaters will not show it in 3-D, "the ads have been designed so that the 3D copy may be eliminated" [and obviously, this is why they did not put 3-D on the posters]). The poster had tiny creases and scuffs on the folds, with some creases and faint smudges around the edges, and some faint smudges in the solid colored areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration. It appears that the poster was framed and attached to a backing with tape on the back of the top corners, and when someone removed it from the frame, they caused some creases in the right border that slightly extend into the blue background. It is not that distracting, and could be improved by a restorer "flattening" the poster, or it can be displayed as it. Learn More about condition grades
