There is an early Belgian re-release that is often mistakenly sold as being from the first release, but we know this one is the first release, because of the printer information. This is the very first time we have auctioned this poster! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 13 3/4" x 21" [35 x 53 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had two horizontal folds near the original center and one vertical fold. It had many faint smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
